7 Month... Almost 8 Month Update...

Oh my! It's been kind of busy around here. Ok, it's been really busy! We have had so much going on. We are still in the process of moving. Our closing is this Friday. It was supposed to be last Friday. Some things got messed up with the paperwork. Anyways, we have been packing, rearranging, scheduling movers, rescheduling, trying not to live out of a box, and trying to keep the house in a halfway decent shape all while working and trying to take care of and raise little Miss Izzie. Wow! Overwhelming to say the least. Oh! I also got a new job at Lexington Medical Center. My last day at Richland is the 11th, so we have also been trying to get things together for that. It feels like we have just been struggling to even take a breath.

Ok, on to Miss Iz. I can't begin to explain how much she has changed over the last 2-3 months. She is so fun to be with (not that she wasn't before, but its completely different). Her little personality is just shining through. Not only is my daughter beautiful on the outside, I can clearly see how beautiful she is going to be on the inside as well. It makes me tear up just thinking about the future and how much fun we are going to have together. Here are a few things that we have started to notice over the last weeks:

1. Izzie has not started crawling. However, she scoots backwards. She will attempt to crawl, but then gives up and will lay on her tummy and scoot backwards. She will go about 10ft back at a time.

2. Izzie does not like baby food (the Gerber jars). She gags and spits everything out. However, she likes red licorice (she just sucks on it), lemons, and she likes a few of the Gerber puffs and yogurts. Of course, she is still a breastfed baby. However, we will be weaning soon. We are going to continue to try to feed her the Gerber baby food. We do not want her to be a picky eater like her parents.

3. Izzie has two teeth, both on the bottom.

4. She is a mama's girl. She loves her dada, too.

5. She has said her first word. Todd and I are pretty sure that she is saying "mama" and we know she means it. She just started making a "mmm" sound and started saying "maaaaa." She started saying it last week. Todd and I were both laying on the bed. I asked Todd to hold her for a minute. I was sitting right next to them. She started reaching for me and saying "ma" over and over until I held her and then she was quiet again.

6. Izzie has started pulling up on things to stand. She needs lots of supervision, because she falls. We have caught her doing it all by herself a few times.

7. She loves her Nina and her Gammy. At times, I believe she might love them a little more than me ;).

8. Izzie got in the pool for the first time a few weeks ago. She loves the water and likes to splash.

I'm sure there is a lot more, but I tried to hit the major highlights. We will hopefully be moved into our new home this weekend and things will start slowing down. Then, I might have more time to keep this blog updated.
