Snow, Sleet, and Freezing Rain. Oh My!

Yesterday, we had some excitement here. The weatherman was calling for freezing rain, sleet, and snow. Of course, he had to be a buzzkill and say it would not stick. It was okay though, we were still excited. We went and picked up some dinner together as a family. We often all hop in the car to go get food, even if it only requires one person. The kids love getting out of the house for a ride especially since it was a dark, gloomy afternoon. I think cabin fever was setting in. Izzie also loves telling whoever is driving that there is a red sign and that means "STOP!" She makes sure we do not miss any haha.

When we got back from our ride. We all set up dinner on the kitchen table. We have some great windows in our kitchen that overlook the backyard and swingset. As we were eating, we heard some loud claps of thunder. Then, the sleet came down pretty heavy for about twenty minutes. The kids were so excited watching it. After it passed, we let them go out on the deck (yes, in their pajamas). Garrett chose to eat the sleet, while Izzie grabbed handfuls to bring inside and show us. I had lots of little puddles on the floor and table. It was great.

I hope next winter brings a lot more of this type of excitement. It was about two years ago when we had our big snow storm. Big meaning we got like six inches. I definitely don't want to move, but our winters here could get a little colder.

Excuse the possibly blurry, bad pictures. My kids are really fast, so I snap as quick as I can and hope for the best.
